Priest

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory

Hallelujah

The Lord said to Abraham: "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you." With this promise from the book of Genesis (12 :1), I travelled from Lebanon to Wädenswil. Since the beginning of March, I have been at the church as a priest collaborator and I hope that God's will, will be fulfilled in my life through this.

Before this, I studied philosophy, theology, and canon and civil law in Rome and then was able to serve Jesus and the Church in various missions and parishes. I also worked as a professor at two universities and as a judge at the church court.

I am looking forward to the parish community and many personal encounters on Palm Sunday.

Father Albert Assaf

Dear friends of the LCH,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our new priest, father Albert Assaf. He comes from Lebanon to support our parish community. He studied philosophy, theology, canon and civil law in Rome, and served Jesus and the Church in various missions and parishes. He has also worked as a professor in two universities and as a judge in the ecclesiastical court.

He was appointed on March 1st by Bishop Joseph Maria Bonnemain (Bishop of Chur and Zurich) and Bishop Mansour Gemayel (Maronite Bishop of France and Visitor for Europe) as the new priest for the Maronites and all Eastern Christians in the Canton of Zurich and surrounding areas. Additionally, he has been appointed as a priestly collaborator for the churches in Wädenswil and Adliswil.

We are very happy to have him with us and hope that he will help us deepen our faith and strengthen our community. I warmly invite you to meet our new pastor, and I look forward to you being able to greet him on Palm Sunday next week, where he will preside over the mass at the St. Nicholas Church in Rüschlikon on April 2nd.

Thank you very much, and see you soon.
